Fellow bikers,
this is the second newsletter for the Super Rally 2001, containing all the
latest information about your trip and your stay in Greece.
We apologize for sending this newsletter a little late, but we have been
waiting for the Ship Company to give us the final prices for the Ferry tickets.
The ship tickets form Italy (Venice, Ancona) to Greece (Igoumenitsa) will
be more expensive than last year (about 30%) due to high petrol prices. The ship
company promised us that they will have also ship from Brindisi Italy.
The hotels and rooms for rent are beeing constantly uploaded to our
Internet site where you can see pictures and prices and you can select your
accommodation. Most hotel and room prices are normal for that time of the
year and many are lower than normal.
On the Internet you will also find detailed instructions on the procedure
you have to follow to make your reservations.
So here is the newest information:
- Super Rally dates:
- Camping opens for the Super Rally: Monday 28 May 2001 8:00
- Super Rally starts: Thursday 31 May 2001 8:00
- Super Rally ends: Monday 4 June 2001 22:00
- Camping closes for the Super Rally Tuesday 5 June 8:00
- The camping will remain open afterwards for peope who want to continue
their stay and pay their stay to the camping authority.
The official Super Rally date as you already know is Thursday 31 May -
Monday 4 June 2001.
The Camping ground will be open from Monday 28 May 8:00 and you can check
in without paying extra money at the Entrance (just the normal Super Rally
fee). From Monday (28) morning until Wednesday (30) night there will not be
any Super Rally services (Live Music, Entertainment, Biker's Market, Water
Games, Parties etc), but the Municipality of igoumenitsa promised that they
will have entertainment with traditional Greek fests for you. From Tuesday 5
June 2001 whoever wants to continue their vacations staying in the same
camping will have to pay their extra days to the camping
authority.
- Super Rally Entrance fee:

17000 GRD (Greek Drachmas) aprrox. 50 EURO or 100 DEM

Will include 3 breakfasts, pin, safety bracelets, program.

Payment at the Super Rally Entrances only in Greek currency

Payment onboard from Italy to Greece with Minoan Lines ships only in
Greek currency (at special Booths)
A company named CANTREL is responsible for all the Hotel and Room
bookings you will do. This company is located in Igoumenitsa, so they will be
able to serve you well. You have to call them ar send fax or e-mail to book
your rooms. Their numbers are:

You will have to pay in advance for your accommodation in order
your reservation to be confirmed. You will be able to pay by Bank Transfer or
by Euro-Cheque or by Western Union Money Transfer. Don't forget that you have
to receive your confirmations.
There are hotels and rooms available in three areas (for the
moment):

Igoumenitsa city. Only a few (2 to 4) kilometers away from the Super
Rally area.

Plataria village. 12 kilometers away from the Super Rally area.

Sivota village. 22 kilometers away from the Super Rally
area.

CANTREL company will be ready for reservations on Friday 3 November
2000.
As you already know the company Minoan Lines, which is official
sponsor of the Super Rally 2001 has given big discounts on ferry tickets. I
will give you the itineraries for the year 2000 and the prices for the same
year. Note that for the year 2001 there may be slight changes to itineraries
and the prices will be about 30% higher due to high petrol price. Unfortuntely
we have some delay in information but it is not in our hands. As soon as the
Ship Company sends us the official prices and itineraries we will send them to
you right away. At that moment you will also be able to make your ship
reservations.

The prices above are all in Greek Drachmas. They are last
year's prices. Prices are per person. The year 2001 prices will be higher and
that will compensate the discount we have. So the final prices will be
aproximatelly as seen above (maybe a little cheaper). Note that you have to
ADD oneway and return
ticket for the full trip. As soon as the official itinerary and prices are
sent to us you will receive them in a new Newsletter with the addresses of all
European Minoan Lines Agents and instructions on how to book tickets.

We are trying to arrange for Lynard Skynard to be the
head group of Saturday night. I think we will make it.
We will arange many biker games and water sports. We
will have (electric) bull riding, bungee jumping, jet ski, parachuting, bike
show, tatoo contest, wet t-shirt contest, strip tease, beach parties, biker's
market etc.
Everything will be bought with traditional Harley
Dollars. Each Harley Dollar will cost you 300 Drachmas (350 Drachmas = 1
EURO).
Food will cost about 6 Harley Dollars and will include
Greek Cuisine. Beer will cost about 2 Harley Dollars (1,7 EURO
400ml).
